The big number counts every bill where you both took a position. The smaller one counts only the votes where the two parties went opposite ways — which is the number that says something, because agreeing on a bill nobody opposed isn't agreement.

This looks like it codifies practice that already exists informally. Worth doing — informal practice evaporates when an administration changes. The committee report would settle it either way.

The reporting requirements are the useful part. You can't argue about something nobody is required to measure. I'd want the cost estimate before I'd defend either position.

- H.R. 5334 — Lindsey O. Graham Sanctioning Russia and Iran Act of 2026
In favour. The transparency provisions alone justify it, and they're the hardest part to undo later. The committee report would settle it either way.

- H.R. 9500 — Tax Relief for Fraud Victims Act
The cost estimate assumes full compliance, and full compliance never happens. That gap is where these things go wrong. The same objection applied to the last version and went unanswered.

The pilot-programme framing is the part I'd watch. Pilots have a way of becoming permanent at the next reauthorisation. None of that is settled by the summary.

Voting no on process rather than substance. This hasn't had a hearing I can find, which is a lot of reach for a bill nobody has questioned in public. The floor version may not be this version, which is the usual problem.

No from me. Pushing the cost to states without saying so is still an unfunded mandate. The floor version may not be this version, which is the usual problem.

Worth reading the sponsor list before deciding — it's less partisan than the framing suggests. The committee report would settle it either way.

- H.R. 10125 — NO PROFIT Act
The states already trying this haven't seen the effects opponents predicted. That's evidence, for what it's worth.

- H.R. 10125 — NO PROFIT Act
The cost estimate assumes full compliance, and full compliance never happens. That gap is where these things go wrong. Someone closer to this than me should say whether that's right.
